One of the biggest events in theater this fall will be Steve Martin’s venture back to Broadway with his play, “Meteor Shower.” The comedy will star Amy Schumer in her Broadway debut—and maybe you, too!

Equity Principal Auditions will be held in New York City Sept. 8 for actors to understudy the four leading roles that, in addition to Schumer, will be played by Tony winner Laura Benanti, Keegan-Michael Key, and Alan Tudyk.

Accompanying Martin, the robust creative team includes David Caparelliotis on the casting front and Jerry Zaks (“Hello, Dolly!”) helming as director. Joey Parnes, whom Martin previously collaborated with on his last Broadway project “Bright Star,” will be producing.

The play, set during a meteor shower on one early 1990s evening, will begin rehearsals Sept. 25, with a first performance slated for Oct. 30. Opening night will be Nov. 29, with the run scheduled through Feb. 18, 2018 at the Booth Theatre.

“Meteor Shower” has already had two previous runs outside of New York City; the first was in San Diego at the Old Globe Theatre and the second at the Long Wharf Theatre in Connecticut.
