Review: Le Chatelard 1802 Lavande
I am a huge night owl. I stay up so late (mostly blogging and searching the interwebz for beauty products) and I often need something to pull me back to reality. Reality being the fact that I have a regular job I need to go to usually a few hours after I go to bed! *DOH* The Lavandescent from Le Chatelard 1802 has been helping sooth my senses!
If you are not familiar with Le Chatelard 1802, they are a company who hand-makes all of their products in France. The products from this brand come in many different scents, but what is more French than Lavender? I must say that the packaging is super user friendly and the labels are very shabby chic. Eye pleasing addition to any bathtub or shower!
Le Gel Douche (aka shower gel) is very nice. It builds up into a nice lather, cleanses well without leaving a residue behind, you are also left smelling of lavender fields which is always nice (if you like the scent of lavender). If you aren’t a fan of the scent of lavender then just insert whatever fragrance they make this shower gel in there. :)
Le Lait Corporel (aka body lotion) is something I really enjoy. I love slathering my freshly cleansed skin with a lotion in the same scent. I have always been a fan of layering scents to aide with the longevity of the scent itself. This lotion is nice and light and sinks right into the skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and supple.
This is the natural soap, the brand hand makes this using the traditional recipe of Savon de Marseille.
A few key points about this soap are as follows:
72% oil
100% natural
100% bio-degradable
Not tested on animals
Vegetable oils only
No animal fats
No parabens
No preservatives
The list goes on and on, but I think you get my point. :) This is a very luxurious soap. I recently rediscovered bar soaps and I must say that this one has been a pleasure. My skin feels moisturized and soft afterwards and the scent can lull me right to sleep, so it is definitely something that I use on nights and weekends.
Like the shower gel, this soap lathers and cleanses well.
Overall, I rate this line of bath and body products 5 stars. It provides essential needs and doubles for aromatherapy. I have always said I like my products to work double-time and these sure delivered!
Do you have any special French products in your bath or shower? Something tickles my fancy knowing that these products were handmade in France, which is a place that I have always wanted to go. It is like having a slice of French country-side in my bathroom. :)
