How To Make A Relaxing Bubble Bath

Why choose between bath salts or bath oil? I double down! I add one cup of Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salts ($5, target.com) first, which contains anti-inflammatory magnesium sulfate. There is some research that suggests that this mineral can be absorbed by the skin and into the body—if it’s true, it’s a good thing because magnesium is vital for our overall health, and by acting as a natural muscle relaxant and lowering stress hormone levels, it can help calm us before bed.

Next, I add a few drops of an oil, which I find leaves my skin even softer and smoother. My favorite is This Works Deep Sleep Bath Oil ($63, skinstore.com), which is concocted with essential oils of vetiver and lavender and leaves your body feeling like absolute Jell-O. In fact, this stuff is so powerful, I would never advise anyone to take a bath with this if they need to stay awake for more than an hour after getting out of the tub.
