Morgans Review - AskMen

Image
Chic, simple, and eco-friendly, Morgans is basically a grooming- replenishment program designed to facilitate your sundry bathroom needs – creating a line of high-end, natural grooming products sold at a lower cost than most popular pharmacy brands that comes part of a customized toiletry kit delivered right to your door step. What Is Morgans? Launched back in October of 2015, aspiring entrepreneur Morgan Hirsch founded Morgans as a basic means for the modern man to do his toiletry shopping at will instead of wandering pharmacy aisles late night in search of common essentials. Morgans appeals most to groomists who are all about showering their bodies with premium personal care items , alongside their bathrooms. Its subscription model makes it an affordable reality by selling its stock direct...

Hidden Gems on NCL Shore Excursions - Norwegian (NCL) Review

I have sailed NCL twice before, and am a steadfast Holland America cruiser , mainly because HAL feels more calming to me. That said, I really, really enjoyed this cruise and the shore excursions . Because of a sudden death in the family I had to cancel and rebook for another date. I had purchased, as I always do, trip cancellation insurance . This was the first time I'd ever made a claim. I did find that trip delay does not cover if you have not started your trip, so having to change the dates, my rebooked date was more expensive, but I bit the bullet because it was the only free time I had left for the summer. I booked a guaranteed balcony cabin , and several days prior to sailing I was advised my cabin, 9017, was an "enclosed balcony. I called NCL to find out what that meant and was told that balcony had a cover, which some cabins on this ship do not. It wasn’t until I arrived that I found out it meant the balcony was like a picture window on the balcony. I have posted More...

Hot Springs: The Indigenous Hot Tub

Along with all-night karaoke sessions and bento box picnics beneath cherry blossom trees , the calming practice of taking a dip in geothermal hot springs is a decadent hobby I picked up while living in Japan years ago . Weaseling its way into my portfolio of ‘simple pleasures’, outdoor bathing in spring- fed mineral pools (what the Japanese call onsen ) or in local bathhouses is part of a normal routine for many Japanese. Back in the States, geography may limit my access and the ritual of communal bathing may be eyed with a bit of suspicion, but I am always at the ready to dive in when the opportunity presents itself. So on a recent ski vacation to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, when I heard the words “hot” and “springs” used in the same breath, my ears perked. Very quickly, the thought of a restorative, natural bath overshadowed any previous desire to hit the slopes! Without much prompting, my party and I made our way up the windy mountain roads , past the reindeer lounging am...

Steve Martin’s ‘Meteor Shower’ Will Hold Auditions for Understudies in NYC

Image
Photo Source: Meteor Shower One of the biggest events in theater this fall will be Steve Martin’s venture back to Broadway with his play, “Meteor Shower.” The comedy will star Amy Schumer in her Broadway debut —and maybe you, too! Equity Principal Auditions will be held in New York City Sept . 8 for actors to understudy the four leading roles that, in addition to Schumer, will be played by Tony winner Laura Benanti , Keegan-Michael Key, and Alan Tudyk. Accompanying Martin, the robust creative team includes David Caparelliotis on the casting front and Jerry Zaks (“Hello, Dolly!”) helming as director. Joey Parnes, whom Martin previously collaborated with on his last Broadway project “Bright Star,” will be producing. The play, set during a meteor shower on one early 1990s evening , will begin rehearsals Sept . 25, with a first performance slated for Oct. 30. Opening night will be Nov. 29, with the run scheduled through Feb. 18, 2018 at the Booth Theatre.   “Meteor Shower” has already ...

A Glimpse at 2015 Motorhomes

Image
Creative floorplans and continuing advances in technology lead the charge for new motorhomes introduced to dealers; Class B’s are the fastest-growing segment There’s a good reason why toy haulers number among the most popular RVs going into 2015 — and it doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with a garage. Well, almost nothing. Sure, a garage-on-wheels is about the handiest thing to hit the RV industry since a 5,000- pound hitch receiver , but beyond the ability to haul toys is the fact that the ramp door of such units provides a whole new dimension to camping. Simply attach the provided support jacks and rails, and owners can enjoy outdoor vistas from the comfort of their own patio. That’s no small feat. Neither is the fact that a 10-by-8- foot ramp door , converted to patio use, can add 80 square feet of living area — an increase of 20 percent or more to the average motorhome floorplan . That’s something that even outdoor enthusiasts who don’t ride ATVs or motorcycles or even ...

The Oracle’s Curse | The Saturday Evening Post

Image
Shutterstock Just five seconds earlier, she had seemed too good to be true. He should have known there was something a little off, just waiting to reveal itself.   “Come on, it’ll be fun. I’ll pay for it,” Karyn said while the two of them waited for their dessert.   “You don’t really believe in all that?”  Larry replied , trying to hedge his tone between faux worry and gentle kidding. “Do you?”   Larry Pemberton really liked this girl. As a guy who always had standards a little too high for his side of the ledger, he didn’t find many women he wanted to see the socially accepted three times. Through two dates, Karyn had seemed like a good match. She was smart, accomplished, beautiful … And, it turned out, a believer in mystical powers.   “It depends,” she said, interrupting his skeptical thoughts. “You have to go to the right one, obviously. A lot of them are just making things up, or telling you what they think you want to hear …”   The concept of a “right” psychic was a concept Larry...
