Build Bath & Shower

Humans have turned to the healing properties of water for centuries. The Ancient Egyptians used to bathe in the Nile for religious purposes and the Ancient Greeks were famous for their gorgeous, elaborate bath houses . The combination of water, warmth, and steam can alleviate joint and muscle aches, relieve headaches, open the sinuses, promote a healthy delivery for pregnant women and so much more. If you’re already taking baths, you’re a few steps ahead of many other individuals (who only stand in their baths and use the shower). If you aren’t yet taking baths, it’s time to finally clean up your bathtub so you can lie down in it. Taking regular baths could alleviate a number of ailments you’re suffering from. It's a cliché but when you're married with kids it can be hard enough finding the time to go to the bathroom on your own, let alone spending time with your partner. So a relaxing massage and an overnight stay for the hubby and I at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa sounded like a much-needed break from arguing with our threenager (that's what comes after the terrible twos) about which colour socks she wants to wear. Set in almost 200 acres of parkland, Formby Hall has four- star facilities including a spa and health club and is currently undergoing a £2.4m refurbishment. Hi Everyone, I hope you’re well and had a lovely weekend! Mine was super busy but really lovely too as I hosted my best friend Donna’s baby shower at her home in Yorkshire. It was such a beautiful day and we were incredibly lucky with the weather, we were able to spend a lot of the day outside which was perfect as the views from Donna’s house are stunning and the theme for the shower was vintage afternoon tea . It was gorgeous! As I said in my previous post id planned on making a couple of home made items for the shower and I was really thrilled with the results and my gorgeous friend Tessa Parr (who recently played Juliet in Romeo & Juliet with me) was also on hand to help! When I stayed at a fancy-pants hotel in Vancouver last year, I remember thinking that I loved their refillable shampoo, conditioner and body wash pumps . I hate throwing away all those tiny, half-used bottles – it seems like such a waste. We throw away SO MUCH garbage in this country, and only 5-10% of the plastic ever makes it to a recycling center. And even if it gets recycled, it usually ends up in a landfill or in our lakes and oceans at some point. Plus, when you recycle a plastic bottle only 10-20% of it can actually be successfully recycled and what is recovered is often downgraded into another form of single use plastic. According to National Geographic, if we don’t change our ways by 2050 there will be 12 BILLION metric tons of plastic in landfills and waterways. There will be more plastic than fish in the ocean!
