The Importance Of Self Care: Philosophy’s 6 piece shower gel collection

Image
I’m sharing #Philosophy in my life as part of a Philosophy sponsored series for Socialstars™ 6 piece shower gel collection " width="730" height="487" /> I tend to forget about myself more often than not. Self Care is something that should be in the forefront of my mind but after handling everything for work, the house, my husband and anyone in between I let myself take on all of the stress. I did that a lot in 2016, I was so stressed out all of the time and it was because I wasn’t putting aside any time for myself. I made a promise to myself at the beginning of this year that I would put myself first more often. I wanted to set aside time for self-care, even if that just meant one bubble bath a week with a good magazine. Bubble baths are my absolute favorite and I can probably count on one hand the amount of them I allowed myself time for last year. I have no excuse now, I have Philosophy’s 6 piece shower gel collection and it’s fabulous. 6 piece shower ge...

Philosophy x QVC Classic Shower Gel Collection + Giveaway

Image
I’m the type of person who lives for bubble baths. Many beauty lovers say that on a bad day there’s always lipstick (which I agree with) but for me there’s nothing that helps me relax and unwind like a good bubble bath to melt away stress. Philosophy makes some of my favorite shower gels – many of them are multi-tasking products that you can use for the hair, body wash and bubble bath (and they actually work for both hair and body). My go-to for years has been the Amazing Grace Shower Gel and I’ ve lost count of how many bottles I’ve used up. QVC has a lot of value sets and I’m excited to team up with them to share Today’s Special Value in the Classic Collection which has four super- sized 32 fl oz shower gels in Lemon Custard, Orange Pineapple Smoothie , Fresh Cream and Cinnamon Buns. The set is offered at a value price of $79.96 for today only and QVC is also giving away one set via The Beauty Look Book. When I first opened the box – I intended on splitting this up into gifts...

Philosophy Unconditional Love Perfumed Shampoo, Bath and Shower Gel: A Delicious Indulgence

Image
philosophy unconditional love perfumed shampoo bath and shower gel" title=" philosophy unconditional love perfumed shampoo bath and shower gel" width="450" height="305" class="size-full wp-image-21079" /> You’re sitting at a sidewalk cafe on a sunny afternoon. A waiter brings out a slice of freshly baked blackberry pie along with a piping hot cup of vanilla rooibos tea . You catch a whiff as the scents mingle and feel comforted, relaxed… and yes, a little hungry. I get this image in my mind whenever I reach for my bottle of Philosophy’s Unconditional Love Perfumed Shampoo , Bath and Shower Gel ($22). 🙂 While I mostly use Philosophy Unconditional Love as a shower gel, it also works as a bubble bath and shampoo. The rich foam is bubblier than a gang of cheerleaders hopped up on Red Bull. It shares the same fragrance as the other products in the line, like the matching body lotion . Philosophy Fresh Cream & Cinnamon Buns Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath Review

As a guy it’s fantastic that Philosophy produce truly multi tasking cleansing products , product that you can use from head to toe and is genuinely effective in each of the three uses, as so often this isn’t the case.  This a must have product for your gym bag or if you do a lot of travelling as your only packing one product instead of three. Both of these shampoo, bath & shower gels have a rich creamy texture , which is very concentrated and you only need to squeeze a small amount under running water to create the most divine fragrance that fills the bathroom and lots of soft creamy bubbles that you just want to dive into.  In the shower I use a scrunchie which creates a beautiful lather that envelops the skin in the most heavenly cascade of bubbles. I love that on the front of both of these bottles there is a recipe to make your own Cinnamon Buns & Fresh Cream creations .  I am now going to go into more detail about the fragrances of these bath and shower gels. Cinnamon Bu...

Tips for Bathroom Safety for Cancer Patients

When my husband and I were looking for a new home to accommodate our disabled daughter, it was the bathroom that had our attention each time we looked at a different house. She has cerebral palsy, is completely dependent and in a wheelchair. Bathing her is difficult. When one’s health is compromised by a disability or an illness, such as mesothelioma, using the bathtub or shower also can become more complicated. The weakness and fatigue associated with the disease can make climbing in and out of a tub or standing in a shower with a wet floor not only difficult, but dangerous. Even for the sure-footed, the lavatory can be a dicey place. A Centers for Disease and Control Prevention study in 2008 revealed that an estimated 234, 094 nonfatal bathroom injuries occurred in the U.S. in the bathroom for people over 15 years and older. Eighty-one percent of those injuries were falls. For people already living with the effects of mesothelioma, any additional injuries would only compound the s...

How To Make A Relaxing Bubble Bath

2/4 Photograph courtesy of Dr. Tea / This Works Why choose between bath salts or bath oil? I double down! I add one cup of Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salts ($5, target.com) first, which contains anti- inflammatory magnesium sulfate . There is some research that suggests that this mineral can be absorbed by the skin and into the body—if it’s true, it’s a good thing because magnesium is vital for our overall health, and by acting as a natural muscle relaxant and lowering stress hormone levels , it can help calm us before bed. RELATED: 7 ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS DERMATOLOGISTS SWEAR BY Next, I add a few drops of an oil, which I find leaves my skin even softer and smoother. My favorite is This Works Deep Sleep Bath Oil ($63, skinstore.com), which is concocted with essential oils of vetiver and lavender and leaves your body feeling like absolute Jell-O. In fact, this stuff is so powerful, I would never advise anyone to take a bath with this if they need to stay awake for more than an hour after gettin...

Baby libraryA shelf full of classic children's books is a gift sure to win any parent's heart. Some favorites are Goodnight Moon , Runaway Bunny , and Guess How Much I Love You? .If you love the idea of giving books, consider making it the theme of the shower: Have everyone bring their favorite with a note to the baby tucked inside . Be sure to mix some baby- friendly board books in with the traditional hardcover variety — that way newborns will be able to truly appreciate the sound and the taste of your gift. Baby sling or carrierOne of the easiest ways for a new parent to tote a baby around is in a sling or front carrier. Master Bathroom Remodel - Recipe Girl

Master Bathroom Remodel: the Final Reveal! posted by Lori Lange I’m excited to share with you the final reveal for my Master Bathroom remodeling project! Master Bathroom Remodel - the Final Reveal" width="602" height="900" /> As you may recall from my previous posts:   Master Bathroom Remodel (beginning) and Master Bathroom Remodel (Progress), this was a major project.  The entire bathroom was torn out and re-done with all new everything.  It took 6 months from start to finish!  Here’s an extensive peek at what the end result looks like… Left-view entrance… and the closet: We were very excited to get rid of the gold- rimmed sliding door for the closet and replace it with a barn- wood sliding door .  Our designer located some barn wood locally and we had our contractor build the door.  It’s one of our favorite parts of the new bathroom! The barn door slides back and forth from that top rail.  We had a solid wall built behind the door you see there, so...
