Things to do in Bath - Visit Bath in England

Image
Hey! Give me a like! Things to do in Bath! Bath is a city in the county of Somerset, situated 97 miles west of London and it’s easily reached from the capital city as it’s only around 90 minutes by train from London Paddington. Originally a spa town in the Roman era, it’s now a World Heritage Site due to its cultural and historical importance: the Roman remains and Bath’s spectacular Georgian architecture are the reasons for this award. The city is populated by about 85,000 permanent residents. It is one of the most popular tourist cities in England due to its fascinating history, culture, and beautiful architecture. Parade gardens, Bath, Things to do in Bath, England, UK by Adrian Pingstone Things to do in Bath, England What to see and visit in Bath Like many towns and cities in the UK, Bath has Roman origins, which are still clear to see today. The city originally started as a Roman spa, which then grew into numerous baths (hence the city’s name), and temples. The city is st...

Herl’s Bath and Tile Solutions - 29 Photos & 10 Reviews - Contractors - 31440 Winterplace Pkwy, Salisbury, MD - Phone Number

10 31440 Winterplace Pkwy Salisbury , MD 21804 (410) 219-9033 I'm in the second week of my 2.5 baths remodel. For the 2 full baths, I'm getting 2 tubs/wall systems, 2 toilets ( American Standard champion pro ), 2 shower heads, tiles and 2 sink faucets (not replacing vanity), wall painted. For the powder room, I'm getting toilet replaced ( American Standard Vormax ), wainscoting and wall painted, not replacing vanity or flooring. Note: I would recommend doing a little homework on how much toilets, tubs, shower heads, etc of the same type typically cost before signing the contract. Our salesman said the Vormax was around $900. The good: Our sales guy (Rick) was friendly and courteous. Office receptionist is also polite and courteous. The not-so-good:They send different guys to do different parts of the job (acrylic tub/wall vs tiling vs toilet installation vs painting are done by different people). I prefer to have the same people do all the work so there's not differe...

The Rise of the Luxurious Suburban Master Bathroom

Image
The 1986 edition of the International Collection of Interior Design , a trade magazine for those in the business, issued a bold statement regarding bathrooms: “The era of the utilitarian, puritanical bathroom is over and now it is returning to center stage as the place for luxurious, sophisticated relaxation in the home.” The 1986 bathroom would bring back the grand indulgences of the Romans, who surrounded themselves with plush beauty during their ablutions. This elevation of the master bathroom from the “necessary room” as it was euphemistically called, to its reign as the cornerstone of the master suite, was such a rapid and recent development, that it is easy to take it for granted. Bathrooms haven’t changed much since indoor plumbing became a standard feature in newly built homes at the turn of the 20th century.  This, coupled with changing societal expectations regarding the frequency of bathing and new technology such as the flush toilet, swiftly ushered in the era of the  mo...

Home furnishings vendors old and new continue to make products in the U.S. Bassett Furniture While domestic manufacturing's best days are clearly in the rearview mirror, there is a but detectable resurgence in American- made home furnishings . HFN spoke with some of the best-known companies--along with up-and-comers--that are helping to keep American manufacturing alive . While the business entities are unique in their offerings, philosophies and operations, they share some distinctive beliefs. Whether it's a conversation with Rob Spilman, CEO of Bassett, with a century-old tradition of making products in the U.S., or Trent Mayol, founder of year-old SmartDeco, there's a deep confidence in the quality of American-made goods. " Making products in the U.S. has a unique connotation that you truly care about the quality of your product," Mayol said. "It says that you're not willing to sacrifice quality for the sake of profit making. And Americans should t...
