Splatoon 2 Octo Shower Boss Guide - How to Beat Hero Mode Boss 4


The Octo Shower boss of Splatoon 2 is significantly more challenging than any other boss that has come before. The Octo Shower has the speed, agility, and firepower to match even the most skilled Inkling, so we've put this Splatoon 2 Octo Shower boss guide together on how to effectively take it down.

How to Beat Octo Shower in Splatoon 2

Octo Shower can be a tricky Splatoon 2 boss, depending on how good you are with the Hero Shot. As soon as you're into the arena and the Octo Shower boss has started, make your way up the nearest building to the boss, using the ramps to scale them quickly. Fire off some charged Hero Shots at the Octarians carrying the boss, and if they move the boss away from you, you'll have to follow them to the nearest vantage point. Once all three Octarians are down, the tentacle will be vulnerable, and can be taken out with two fully charged shots from the Hero Shot.

In the second stage of the Octo Shower boss fight, four Octarians will now be carrying the boss, and the boss itself will employ a number of new weapons, like homing missiles and the ink shower. Make sure to move laterally to avoid either of these attacks, but still make your way to the nearest vantage point to the boss in order to take out all the Octarians carrying it, and then deal with the tentacle.

In the third and final stage, make sure to move quickly, or the Octo Shower will make short work of you. The Octarians carrying the boss can now dodge your attacks, which doesn't make matters any easier, but you should still use the same tactics as before, taking care to move quickly across the battlefield in your squid form to avoid the devastating machine gun attack that the Octo Shower uses. Take to the nearest vantage point, place your charged Hero Shots carefully, and you shouldn't too much trouble finishing off the Octo Shower.

Tips and Strategies for Beating the Octo Shower boss:

  • As always, it's never a good idea to stay in one area for too long, even if you are on top of a raised platform with an angle on the Octo Shower.
  • As soon as the Octo Shower starts leaning back, you'll know it's charging the massive cannon underneath it, so get ready to move.
  • Never hang around for too long underneath the Octo Shower, as this will cause the boss to douse your Inkling with a huge amount of ink, almost always killing you in the process.
