Reader John bought a Eureka vacuum cleaner from Bed Bath and Beyond in March. When the vacuum stopped working in August, John called Eureka . They asked that he get the vacuum repaired himself. John took said appliance to a local Brooklyn hole -in-the- wall repair place where it was “repaired” and by “repaired” we mean “stored for several days and returned.” From John’s email: “He kept asking “did you check the hose? there’s probably something in the hose” there wasn’t, we get the “repaired” vacuum back… still broken. I have sailed NCL twice before, and am a steadfast Holland America cruiser , mainly because HAL feels more calming to me. That said, I really, really enjoyed this cruise and the shore excursions . Because of a sudden death in the family I had to cancel and rebook for another date. I had purchased, as I always do, trip cancellation insurance . This was the first time I'd ever made a claim. I did find that trip delay does not cover if you have not started your trip, so having to change the dates, my rebooked date was more expensive, but I bit the bullet because it was the only free time I had left for the summer. I booked a guaranteed balcony cabin , and several days prior to sailing I was advised my cabin, 9017, was an "enclosed balcony. I called NCL to find out what that meant and was told that balcony had a cover, which some cabins on this ship do not. Do you have bottles of fragrance oil that are nearly empty, but you just can’t bring yourself to throw them away? Maybe the bottle contains just a few milliliters, or even just a few drops of oil. Even an “empty” bottle still has a little bit of fragrance oil on the inside. To use up every last bit of oil, I like to pour dry ingredients directly into the bottles to create scented bath salts , scrubs or bath bombs. Salts and bath fizzies have a low fragrance oil usage rate because you usually don’t wash off after taking a bath. For 16 ounces of salts, you can use 0.2-0.3 ounces of fragrance oil for a light to medium scent.
