It’s not exactly news that white vinegar is a great safe and natural cleaner for all kinds of surfaces. But today I wanted to talk about one place that vinegar is particularly useful – the bathroom! Bathrooms are a gathering place for all sorts of hard-to-clean messes, but you can tackle almost all of them with the help of vinegar! The high acidity level of vinegar helps loosen mineral deposits (such as lime & rust) and dissolve soap scum , making it perfect for bathroom cleaning ! And because it is so acidic, it creates a “hostile” environment for many microorganisms, making it a powerful disinfect as well. A 1997 study in the Journal of Environmental Health showed that undiluted vinegar was just as effective as bleach in eliminating E. coli from surfaces and sponges. When I moved in, my bathroom was outfitted with basic builder grade components that never really went together and to top it all off, they never really worked properly. As soon as we moved into our house, almost 5 years ago, we hit the DIY projects hard . New flooring, replacement of appliances, painting, etc. We thought our house was “move in ready”, but as first time home buyers , we now know it wasn’t so “move in ready”. One update in our home that we have put off for years, updating the master bathroom. As a space-saving measure, the bathtub faucets in mobile homes and large RVs often use a single-body design in which the tub spout and hot- and cold-water handles are incorporated into a single unit. Mobile home tub faucets can be mounted either on the wall or to the side of the tub, as is often seen in older mobile homes . These tub faucets often have a diverter that can be pulled up to block the water in the spout and force it up into the shower head, which connects to the faucet via a separate pipe behind the wall. Mobile home tub faucets  come in many types, but replacing one is fairly easy if you buy a new one that matches the hole configuration that is already present. There are tub faucets for holes 4" on-center or 8" on-center--the measurement from the center of the hot water pipe to the center of the cold water pipe .
